Cambios . . .

Here we are! Another hot week, this week it rained a ton and we lost power 4 times. When there isn't power like that, we have to go home. So we spent some time at home, with candles reading the scriptures hahah. Pretty fun!

Last Monday, the APs called and told Elder Macx that he was being transferred to the other side of the city. I WAS SO SAD. I thought for sure we were going to have 2 transfers together, but sometimes things don't work out the way you'd like them to. Everything was fine until Tuesday morning when the ZLs called and told me that..... I would be with a MINI MISSIONARY.  That means, someone who doesn't have their endownments, and is preparing to go on a mission. He is also 17 years old and he thinks he can run my area. So that has been great, its been a great week. We've fought a lot - he knows everything, just one of those kinds of people.

Two talks I found this week - "Priesthood Man" by Elder Eyring and "Moral Discipline" by Elder Christofferson. Read them. They are great, and have really lit a fire for me!

11 Meces (Mañana!!)

Hey all!

This was a heck of a week that's for sure. Last Monday we played card games as a zone in the Zone Leaders house, and I got to know Elder Hayes a bit better. He is from Sandy Utah. Graduated from Alta High Class of 2017, and he is one transfer ahead of me. He's way cool! Then Tuesday we had district meeting everything normal. 

Wednesday we dug our well some more (pics of me super dirty), I was in there for 2 and a half hours, just trying to get the mud out of there. I don't think I've ever sweat so much to be 100 percent honest. Pretty fun though. My underwear turned orange for how much mud there was. Then from there on the week was pretty normal. 

I found a member here who has family in South Jordan Utah, and he's been up there and back a handful of times. Turns out, he knows Jordan Landing real well hahah. He doesn't speak any English. I dunno if it was a mistake or not, but he told me that hes gonna take a trip around Christmas time to see his daughter. I gave him our address, and he said he's gonna try to get a visit in to the Roper Home before he leaves. He is super humble, he's the little old man in the pics with his grandson. I'm gonna see if I can send home a little package with him. His name is Luis. 

Saturday, we had a baptism!  That was great! Elder Macz did the honors this time. I felt good about that. 

Then Sunday.... STAKE CONFERENCE WITH SISTER AND ELDER RENLUND. What an experience!  I can feel the Spirit just thinking about him and what he said. He and his wife gave great talks about the importance of convenants, commandments, and prophets. Elder Renlund spoke on the importance of agency and what we are going to do when someone in the church offends us, or even a non member offends us or bullies us for being members. One quote I loved that he said,

¨Jesus Christ loves to make things right, He heals broken hearts, mends wounds, and helps us to feel the Fathers love.¨ What a guy Elder Renlund. Then, we all got to shake his hand after!!!!!!! Now I just need to meet 10 more Apostles hahahahh. Pretty great experience, pretty great week all around.

In this area I've really come to love Michael Jackson. Our neighbors love it! hahahah. Good stuff!

Hello all, another week down here in good old Quistococha. This week was better, we found 6 new investigators. Its been a while since I've found that many in one week and it sure did feel good! One of our dates fell to the 15th, but that's alright.  She did'nt have time the 8th to be baptized, but we're goin' strong. We've been finding lots of good people lately, but the problem is that no one is married here. So we have to work real hard to marry these people.

This Sunday we will have a stake conference with Elder Renlund..... yes you read that right. Elder Renlund is going to burn the city of Iquitos with his presence honestly. I'm stoked to see what he's going to say to the people here. 

This week we dug a big ol well and I went on a work visit. We helped a family lay a concrete floor - so that is fun. Doing service is always a blast, but it shows me really how outta shape I am. hahaha.

Lavender Oil from doTerra has come in clutch lately. It helps so much with itchy bug bites. It has been super bad lately. There are a lot of bugs in my area.

This week I watched 17 Miracles, and holy moly - whatta movie. I had kinda forgotten about it all, and honestly I cannot stop thinking of pioneers lately, and how much they sacrificed to go to Zion. Good stuff there. Then the last P day we watched the SaratovApproach as a district. that was very interesting. Hahaha!

Hello!

Another week down! This week we had a baptism, a 15 year old girl. I felt kinda bad because my comp and his old comp had spent so much time teaching her, and I got her and she chose me to baptize her. He was a bit upset, but it's alright. We got a baptism!  It was super frustrating. We wanted to start at 7, but IT RAINED, so no one was there until 7:40 -7:50. Oh wellll. Rain here pretty much shuts everything down. Kinda frustrating.

We've been teaching English classes lately, and it is kinda fun. English is hard to teach, I tell everyone that I'm not a teacher, and that I just know how to speak it. I find myself using techniques to teach that I remember learning back in first grade with Mrs. Bruett. That's crazy stuff.

My comp is amazing! I am super humble to be with him. I'm in my first transfer as senior comp and district leader, and I haven't been doing a very good job of it. He called me out for it Tuesday and I kinda lost my temper for a sec.  Decided that I would go take a second to cool off in our little bathroom, thinking of how I was going to fight back with an argument and it hit me . . . I felt like I was acting like a child, and that he was only trying to help. I fought the Spirit and tried to justify everything, and 1 Nephi 16 came to me... the wicked take the truth to be hard. I realized I could either be wicked and proud and fight my comp or be humble and meek and receive his advice.  I went and apolgized for freaking out and ended up bawling. I feel super grateful to know that this is the Lord's work and that He knows His servants and exactly how to help them.

I feel very humbled lately.
