This Week Flew By Again

Well, this week flew by AGAIN.  Sunday ended my 10th transfer, and Monday I began my 11th and my first in the offices. Tuesday Elder Egbert went off to his area with his new companion, and left me allll alone to be the financial secretary. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been pretty stressed out about everything. But its alright, I'm slowly figuring it out.
Monday President Li invited Elder Egbert and I to his house to eat lunch with him and Hermana Li to celebrate (I guess) an old secretary leaving and a new one entering. We spent an hour and a half or so with them, and it was quite fun to see who they are when they’re just home eating lunch, kinda hanging out. (My glasses kinda ruined the pics that we took, but oh well)

Tuesday was transfer day, and that meant that lots of missionaries were traveling through Iquitos, Pucallpa or Tarapoto. What happened this time is that a bunch (in Spanish we say “un monton”) missionaries were supposed to come to Iquitos from Tarapoto AND THE FLIGHTS GOT CANCELLED!!!  Sooo Elder Newell kinda crapped his pants and was scrambling to find solutions to get everyone here as soon as possible. They got here the 24th. Sometimes life is crazy!
Being a secretary we get to see everything.  Monday night we took all the people finishing their missions to the airport with President Li, and said bye to them, helped pay for some luggage all that good stuff, and that was an emotional thing for me, seeing it like that the first time.

The pic there in the airport is with my dude Elder Colquiuanca, he's from Cuzco. He's a convert of 3 years, and easily one of the most diligent missionaries I've met. That was cool though!
And then Monday night and Tuesday morning we were all trunky as can be, and then Tuesday afternoon all the greenies from the MTC arrived, and it was like the circle was complete there. Pretty fun. With the newbies, I also have to give a presentation about how they should use the money they receive and all that good stuff. We ate pizza and garlic bread for dinner. Pretty solid.
In my personal study in these days (en estos dias, that sounds better in Spanish hahah), I have made it to 3 Nephi again, when the Savior appears to the Nephite people. One of the things that I really liked this time around, that really stood out was this from Chapter 13:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye; if, therefore, thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.
It pretty much, well the way I understood it is that we can’t control what is in the world, what we may or may not see, but we can definitely control what it was we look at, if our eye is “Is single”, then we shall be full of light.
This transfer President surprised us by giving us a 4th companion here in the offices. He isn’t really a secretary, in the computer system all it says under his name is “Compañero Mayor” which is senior companion. His job is pretty much to watch over us and make sure we get our stuff done, and then kick us out to proselyte. He just barely got done being a Zone Leader, so he for sure knows his stuff. I’ve been out with him a couple of times this week, and he'll definitely help us a ton.
But I think that’s all for this week,
Until next Saturday!!!!!!!!
